Owlets

We went outside to explore the frost and ice one cold morning this week. We did some writing in the frost and explored the textures and used different words to describe e.g. slippery, sparkly, spiky, crunchy. We also all chose a frozen leaf and then brought it inside to see what would happen over time.

We did some weighing in our role play farm shop, and drew a map of our school on the blackboard.

We are practicing our pencil control with neat colouring and handwriting linked to our farm topic.

This week we have started our Down on the Farm topic. We’ve been identifying which animals live on the farm and doing some classifying.

 

Owlets wish you all a Merry Christmas

The Owlets have done a fantastic job of writing independently this week. Here are some examples:

In maths they are observing how shape is all around us and learning the names of 2D shapes:

They have also decorated their classroom!

Owlets were able to create patterns and explore the nature all around them, including collecting the autumnal leaves.

They continue to build their word knowledge with independent writing and are learning 2D shapes in maths.

Owlets created their own Poppy Display from Remembrance Day

It was Children in Need on Friday – thank you to all the parents for the lovely outfits and donations to Children in Need.

Owlets worked hard in PE to listen and take turns, as well as developing their ball skills
