Eagle Owls

WB 06 11 2023

Eagle Owls are using different components of an electrical circuit. They are recognising the symbols that are used to represent each element in order to make their own circuits.

KS2 were excited to have a Music Worldwide Workshop on Tuesday. They got to work with Pedro Espi-Sanchis. He performed with a wide range of unexpected instruments, from pipes made from kelp to a bow with a gourd threaded onto it to make a stringed instrument. We learnt how even in the most remote village in South Africa they can make music from everything that they have!

Then on Friday we were able to transport 42 children from across KS2 to the annual Cross Country Competition at Earlham Park. Well done to all that took part and to parents who were able to come and support.

What a lovely end to the first half term – our Harvest Assembly. Thank you all so much for your donations and for braving the torrential rain to join us! Have a great half term.

Eagle Owls finished the food tech for this term by making a modern dish – they made veggie burgers. The development of vegetarian and Vegan food has really taken off this century. They have really enjoyed the food technology this year. Well done to Mrs Bushell, Mrs Awbery and Mrs Graves without whom we couldn’t do any cooking. It is an organisational triumph in a such a small school with no designated food tech room!

WB 09 10 2023

Eagle Owls continue with cooking through the ages and this week made Mac and Cheese! We are getting very modern now and hopefully they are learning some wonderful skills for life!

WB 02 10 2023

Eagle Owls are cooking through the ages and this week a popular dish from many years: Pineapple Upside Down Cake. They were all very happy with the result, and we hope that you enjoyed them at home too!

WB 25 09 2023

Eagle Owls made Fish Pie this week as they continue to explore cooking across the ages. We wonder if there is a budding celebrity chef amongst them?

WB 18 09 2023

Eagle Owls continue with cooking through the ages and this week a popular dish from the 1960s – Spaghetti Bolognaise. There is always a vegetarian option to be made as well for those who choose it.

WB 11 09 2023

Eagle Owls have started half a term of food technology to tie in with History – they are exploring different recipes from across the ages. This week they had a go at Coronation Chicken invented for Queen Elizabeth II coronation in 1953

While the whole school enjoy the annual Den Day – in good weather – we reflect on another fantastic year at Little Melton.  We enjoyed the Leavers Performance on Wednesday evening and then Friday was a busy day- bidding a fond farewell to our lovely Year 6 pupils who have done us proud for 7 years, and celebrating the end of another year of learning for our youngsters. THANK YOU all for your wonderful gifts and well wishes, and we wish you all a fabulous summer break ❤️
